The previous sections have considered adding costs to an item using the basic Cost Types. Much of an Estimator's skill lies in making allowances or reduction in standard calculated rates to allow for specific site conditions, design implications etc. that may affect particular items within an estimate.

 

Valesco does not remove the ability to achieve this, but allows the Estimator to make allowance for “added monies” and net rate factors.


The standard Cost grid on the pricing tab includes a column called Added. It is in this column where additional cost(s) per cost type can be added (or removed, if a negative value is inserted)

 

The following shows an item that has a Labour & Plant cost taken from a resource list. The Costs Tab (shown as an overlay) allows money to be added to any of these cost groups – remember that a white cell in a grid is an editable cell.
