Resource Groups are set up to represent each group of materials that you might purchase from Suppliers, typically Ready Mixed Concrete, Timber, Drainage Goods, and Bricks etc.

They are also used in the Resource Manager to group similar resources together to make them easy to find. (See Pricing section for further details.)

 

To Add Resource Groups

1. From the Components tab, choose Resource Groups, Valesco opens the Resource Groups window.



 

2. From the Resource Group window, click the mouse on the New button. Valesco opens the Resource Group window.



3. Enter the name (Reference) and Long name for the new Resource Group.

 

4. Assign the new Group to the Cost Type, Materials

 

5. Select the Parent Resource Group as required.

 

6. Click the mouse on OK to save the entry and close the window.

 

Add all the required Resource Groups as needed for the job. You can return at any time to add more Resource Groups.

 

 

Assigning Resource Groups to Material Resources

 

Resource Groups are used collect and filter similar Resources as part of a Supplier material package. This is usually done when adding a Resource to the Resource Manager.

 

 

To assign a Resource Group to a Resource

1. Open the Resource Manager and commence the process to add a new Basic Resource, by adding the Name, Long Name, Base rate and Cost Type.

 

2. Select the Resource Group required from the Group window.




3. Click the mouse on OK to save the Resource with its Group.
