Once the Valesco Estimating application has been activated by entering a valid Registration Activation Key, it can be opened using either of the following methods:
- From the Windows Start menu
- From a Desktop shortcut
- Double clicking on an EVC document in Windows File Explorer
When starting a new Project, you should always open an existing EVC Template (or previous Tender) to ensure you have all the correct components in place before you start.
When opening an EVC file, the User Name defaults as 'Admin', and there is no Password set, so simply click OK
To suppress this opening dialogue box for future logons, tick the 'Auto-login for unprotected projects' before clicking OK
Closing Valesco
It is important to close the program down correctly so that your work is saved. There are a number of ways to close Valesco safely:
To close Valesco (quickest)
o Click the close application "X" in the top right corner of the screen.
o The Valesco program closes (prompting to save Projects)
To Exit Valesco using the Valesco icon
o Click on the Valesco icon in the top left corner of the screen.
o Select Exit.
o The Valesco program closes (prompting to save Projects)
To close the active document
o Click on the Valesco icon in the top left corner of the screen.
o Select Close.
o The Valesco active document closes (prompting to save the project)
Note:
Do not close Valesco by simply switching off your computer, or entering 'Sleep' mode, as this may result in unsaved or corrupted data.
