It is useful for an Estimator to be able to easily see, and if necessary update, the resource usage in a particular estimate. Valesco has a Resource usage dialogue that allows you to do just that.
To open the Resource Usage window, either ‘right-click’ on the required resource, and select Resource Usage from the list, or click the ‘Resource Centre’.

If you highlight a Resource in the Tree on the left, Valesco displays a list of the Bill Items containing the chosen Resource. When subsequently highlighting an item from the Bill Item pane, the Job Outliner (or Grid View) focuses on the corresponding item.
TIP
Click the <Select in Tree> button to add all items using the focussed resource to the selection set. This allows you to quickly run through the BoQ to check these items by using the Next/Previous selected item icons on the navigation toolbar. |
If you highlight a Resource in the Tree with the Resource Set tab selected, Valesco displays a list of the Resource Sets containing the chosen Resource.
Once highlighted, the Bill Item or Resource Set can then be analysed or amended as necessary, using the appropriate item tab.
The Resource Usage window allows you to show Resource Usage or to make replacements within the job, by setting the required radio button in the lower left corner of the window.
To Replace a Resource select the required Resource, set the ‘Replace With’ radio button, and highlight the replacement Resource in the Tree. Valesco then populates the ‘Replace With’ field with the corresponding Resource reference. Select the <Replace> button to make the replacement.
Additionally, you may wish to globally unlock all Resource Set assignments for the chosen Resource
To Unlock Resource Set Assignments, select the required Resource from the Resource List or Tree, click the mouse on the Unlock Sets button and confirm the prompt as necessary. The unlock function will unlock all Resource Set assignments, where previously locked.
