The Quick Access Toolbar allows you to access ‘commands’ independent of the standard toolbars.

The commands on the quick access toolbar can be customized to suit your needs.

Any toolbar icon can also be added to the Quick Access toolbar by 'right-clicking' on the icon, and selecting 'Add to Quick Access Toolbar'.
