When importing a BoQ from Excel, it is often useful to format the whole of the document to show Text Headings as Bold & Underlined and the Bill Items as indented to Indent Level 1 or 2

This procedure is carried out by Filtering the required Selected Items, then Bulk Changing the Item Details

On the ‘Go To’ toolbar (or the Quick Access Toolbar), click the ‘Select Filter’

Choose the default ‘Measurable items’ filter and click OK

This will clear all of the selection set and apply the ‘Selected Items’ filter to all Measurable items.

Go to the ‘Actions > Bulk Change’ toolbar to apply required Indent to all Selected Items.

Bulk Change will apply any action you choose to only the Selected Items.

When creating Bill Items, they can be auto-indented by selecting ‘Auto-Indent Bill Items’ in the User Options (accessed from Application Menu > Options > Display).

Re-referencing a Bill of Quantities

When a Bill of Quants is created manually, the Page Totals & Page Collections require the Long Name to be populated so that these descriptions are shown on the Summaries.

To save time entering these descriptions, if all objects are renumbered, the Long Description of Bill & Pages gets copied to Page Collection & Page Total.
